Here are some easy design hacks to keep your space looking neat and tidy.

1. Keep your furniture away from the walls. If everything is pushed up against the walls it can give the room a cluttered feeling, where if the lounges, tables and chairs are kept away from the walls it will have a feeling of more space.

2. Use shelving in your home to store items. Make sure you don't overcrowd them and keep it simple. Leave even spacing between shelves and leave a space between everything you place on the shelves.

3. Keeping your countertops clear of clutter is the easiest way to help your room look neat and tidy. Although it is temping to place items on the counter.

4. Store items you would only use once or twice in the garage, like camping items, decorations etc. This will leave you with more storage space inside and will avoid mess.

5. Use bigger pillows in your home, but only a few. By using only a few large pillows instead of a heap of small pillows it will make your room less cluttered and more tidy.

6. Try different seating options such as chairs or a love seat instead of two large lounges. This will allow for a more roomy space without the loss of seating.

7. If you have a small space you should think about adding a mirror. Mirrors can accomplish so much for a small room. It will reflect light throughout the room which will help brighten it and make the space feel lighter.

8. Maximise natural light. Rooms with a lot of natural daylight often appear larger to the eye, not to mention it also gives the space an airy feeling.

9. Choose multifunctional furniture to simplify your room and add storage. For example those bed frames with drawers on the end and on both sides are excellent. The less furniture you have the more spacious the room will look.

10. Use paint colours that are soft and light, any dark colours will make the space feel a lot smaller, using bright whites will open the space up.
